Sending a strong signal to foreign students worldwide, the French government has announced that, starting 1st July, international students will be allowed to enter French territory, regardless of their country of origin. Support arrangements will be facilitated. Their visa and residence permit applications will be processed in priority.
In a common press release published on Friday 12 June 2020, the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Minister for Internal Affairs announced the gradual reopening of borders.
This is an important development and provides a ray of hope for Indian students enrolled in French institutions and waiting to leave for their study programmes. As soon as conditions in India will allow it, Indian students will be able to join their establishments in France. French Higher Education establishments are gearing up to welcome non-EU students from 1st of July.
