Co Financed Scholarships

The Co-Financed or Joint scholarships for Indian students are joint ventures of the French Embassy and various other institutions or organizations in India or abroad.

These scholarships aim to support meritorious Indian students financially for the duration of their studies in France and are offered at various levels and in different fields of study such as arts, engineering, management, social sciences etc.

The partner institution or organization and the Embassy of France in India contribute towards the living expenses of selected students through allocation of social security (BCS) scholarships and reduction of tuition fees under the joint scholarship programmes.

As a part of social security (BCSscholarship, the selected students receive the status of French government scholarship holder and benefits such as social security, visa fee exemption, Campus France fee waiver and assistance with finding accommodation.

Currently, there are six co-financed or joint scholarships offered by the French Embassy in India. 

1. The Embassy of France in India and The Neemrana Music Foundation co-financed scholarship

The Neemrana Music Foundation (TNMF) in New Delhi and the Embassy of France in India jointly offer two scholarships in the field of Western Classical Music to young singers and musicians. The scholarships are offered for 1 to 3 years and the selected candidates are trained in prestigious French music schools or conservatories.

The scholars are entitled to following benefits:

  • Monthly stipend of 390 euros, French language classes, one-way ticket from France to India covered by TNMF
  • The Embassy of France in India offers a monthly stipend of 390 euros, one-way air ticket from India to France and a BCS (Bourse de Couverture Sociale) scholarship providing Status of French government scholarship holder, social security (mutuelle), assistance in finding affordable accommodation (priority access to CROUS; subject to availability), Visa and Campus France fee waiver.

2. The Embassy of France in India and EDHEC Business school co-financed scholarship

The EDHEC Business School and the Embassy of France in India co-financed scholarship scheme aims to promote higher education in France in the field of management. The scholarship is awarded to 2 Indian students interested in pursuing Master in Management Grande Ecole program at EDHEC Business School. The scholars are entitled to following benefits:

  • 50% waiver per student on the tuition fee by EDHEC Business school
  • The French Embassy awards a BCS (Bourse de Couverture Sociale) scholarship providing status of French government scholarship holder, social security (mutuelle), assistance in finding affordable accommodation (priority access to CROUS; subject to availability), Visa and Campus France fee waiver.

3. The Embassy of France in India and Rennes School of Business co-financed scholarship

The Rennes school of business and the Embassy of France in India co-financed scholarship scheme aims to promote higher education in France in the field of management. The scholarship is awarded to 2 Indian students interested in pursuing a management program at Rennes Business School.

The scholars are entitled to following benefits:

  • Waiver of 2000 € per year per student on the tuition fee by Rennes school of business
  • The French Embassy awards a BCS (Bourse de Couverture Sociale) scholarship providing status of French government scholarship holder, social security (mutuelle), assistance in finding affordable accommodation (priority access to CROUS; subject to availability), Visa and Campus France fee waiver.

4. The Embassy of France in India and Sciences Po co-financed scholarship

Sciences Po Paris and the Embassy of France in India co-financed scholarship scheme aims to promote higher education in France in the field of social sciences. The scholarship is awarded to 2 Indian students interested in pursuing a master programme at Sciences Po Paris.

Sciences Po Paris is a top research and teaching university located in Paris, with undergraduate campuses spread all over France. It prepares students for careers in international organizations, international NGOs and public organizations, media, journalism, consultancy and the private sector in general.

The scholars are entitled to following benefits:

  • Tuition fee waiver upto 10,000 euros as part of the Emile-Boutmy Scholarship per year per student. The Emile-Boutmy scholarship is awarded to top students whose profiles match the admissions priorities of Sciences Po and individual course requirements.
  • The French Embassy awards a BCS (Bourse de Couverture Sociale) scholarship providing Status of French government scholarship holder, social security (mutuelle), assistance in finding affordable accommodation (priority access to CROUS; subject to availability), Visa and Campus France fee waiver.

5. The Embassy of France in India and Paris Tech co-financed scholarship

ParisTech,a public scientific cooperation organisation, is seeking to create collaborative educational, research, and innovation projects in the areas of science, technology, and management. The ParisTech Schools' offer an exceptional cross-disciplinary teaching and research opportunity for students, researchers, and all of the partners. Through a number of partnership agreements, ParisTech has substantial worldwide ties in both teaching and research.

The Embassy of France in India and Paris Tech have put in place a co-finaced scholarship scheme to encourage Indian students to pursue their engineering training on the campus of one of the 5 ParisTech schools - Arts et Métiers Sciences et Technologies, Chimie ParisTech – PSL, École des Ponts ParisTech, Institut d'Optique Graduate School, MINES Paris – PSL.

6. The Embassy of France in India and ENS de Lyon co-financed scholarship

ENS de Lyon is an elite French public higher education institution that trains professors, researchers in the academic system through fundamental research. It is a founding member of the Université de Lyon and supports quality research and encourages interdisciplinary studies to foster a better understanding of complex contemporary issues. ENS de Lyon is home to numerous research laboratories in the fields of exact sciences, social sciences and the humanities.

The Embassy of France in India and ENS de Lyon have put in place a co-financed scholarship scheme to encourage Indian students to pursue master’s programs in Exact Sciences, the Arts, and Human and Social Sciences. The students enrolled in one of the master’s programmes offered by ENS Lyon (except FEADéP Master's programs) can benefit from this scheme.

As a part of this scheme, the selected scholars are entitled to following benefits:

  • Monthly stipend of 1,000€ per month in the framework of the ENS de Lyon - Ampère Scholarships of Excellence (or QuanTEdu-France Scholarships). The selected students are also exempt from paying registration and tuition fees.
  • The French Embassy awards a BCS (Bourse de Couverture Sociale) scholarship providing Status of French government scholarship holder, social security (mutuelle), assistance in finding affordable accommodation (priority access to CROUS; subject to availability), Visa and Campus France fee waiver.

The selection procedure for 2024 academic year will open in December 2023.

7. The Embassy of France in India and Kedge Business School co-financed scholarship

8. The Embassy of France in India and EM Normandie Business School co-financed scholarship

9. The Embassy of France in India and IESEG School of Management co-financed scholarship

The IESEG School of Management and the Embassy of France in India co-financed scholarship scheme aims to promote higher education in France in the field of management. The scholarship is awarded to 3 Indian students interested in pursuing following programmes at IESEG School of Management at master degree level

  • MBA in Leadership and Coding 
  • International MBA 
  • Executive MBA

The scholars are entitled to following benefits:

  • a tuition fee reduction of 50% on the total tuition fees due awarded by IESEG School of Management
  • The French Embassy awards a BCS (Bourse de Couverture Sociale) scholarship providing status of French government scholarship holder, social security (mutuelle), assistance in finding affordable accommodation (priority access to CROUS; subject to availability), Visa and Campus France fee waiver.

9. The Embassy of France in India and Grenoble École de Management co-financed scholarship

Grenoble École de Management (GEM) is a top business school in France, A French “Grand Ecole” institution with campuses in Grenoble and Paris, France. It is renowned for its specialized programs in business strategy, finance, and technology management, as well as its leadership research. It is triple crown of accreditation by EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB.

GEM ranks among the top- 8 European Business Schools and has over 50 program offers, 600 academic staff, and approximately 8,000 students of 120 nationalities.
