Classes Internationales

Étudiants

The "Classes Internationales" program, born from an agreement between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, aims to welcome India's brightest high-school graduates to France, regardless of their French language proficiency.

Set to launch in September 2024, this program invites top Indian high school graduates to spend a year in France learning French before starting their chosen courses. It offers a unique opportunity for Indian students to gain comprehensive French language training and potentially secure scholarships at the program's end.

Announced by President Macron, the initiative was formalized in a joint statement with Prime Minister Modi on January 26, 2024.

Key application deadlines include April 7, 2024, for complete beginners (A0 level) and June 30, 2024, for those with A2 proficiency, accessible via www.classesinternationales.org.

Key Features of the Programme:

  • Inclusivity: Open to all Indian students, irrespective of their French language skills, with academic excellence as the sole criterion.
  • Excellence and Educational Variety: Provides access to prestigious French institutions across various fields, including universities, grandes écoles, and specialized schools in engineering, management, sciences, humanities, arts, and more.
  • Cultural Immersion: Students will be immersed in French culture and language, participating in institutional student activities.
  • Academic Focus: French language classes tailored to the students' chosen fields, supplemented by preparatory courses.
  • Scholarship Opportunities: Outstanding students may receive scholarships from the French Embassy in India to support their higher education in France, with India being the largest beneficiary of French scholarships.
